These things are always written in very thick legalese and it is difficult to determine exactly what they mean. In years past, it isn’t uncommon to read through a proposal and think it sounds harmless, only to find out after a little research that it would have a profound negative impact.
This year, we have a sort of translation from legalese to everyday English for the proposed amendments and referendum, prepared by the Democratic Party of Georgia. We are not offering advice on how to vote (that is your decision), but we hope that this helps you understand the proposals much better.
